I have lived and run in Ramsey Heights for almost 20 years. I run because I enjoy the exercise, the fresh air, the landscape. These are the routes I frequent.
I tend to seek out quiet paths. Occasionally I meet a fellow walker or runner. But more often I encounter muntjacs and Chinese water deer, foxes and badgers. Above me kites, buzzards and marsh harriers soar. This is a working landscape, and any time of the day and the year farmers are out.
Part of these routes use roads, and there is not always a footpath along them. I thank all the drivers who give pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians a wide berth.
Not all of these routes are accessible all the time. Sometimes they are simply too wet, or they may be closed by those who look after the land they go over. I have tried to point out possible issues with the routes, but this website is not regularly updated to reflect the latest news.
